Let’s be real for a second – mention IT companies to most people, and you’ll see eyes roll. But why? Well, from where I’m sitting, it’s a perfect storm of frustration that’s been brewing since the early days of information technology. First off, there’s the jargon. It’s like some IT innovators decided English wasn’t confusing enough, so they invented their own language.
“Have you tried defragmenting your RAM?” Mate, I’m just trying to send an email, not launch a space shuttle. Then there’s the constant updates and upgrades. You finally figure out how to use one thing, and bam! Here’s a new version that changes everything. And don’t even get me started on the costs. Buying a new device these days feels like you have to trade a kidney or two on the black market. And then, when something goes wrong (and it always does), you’re stuck between costly repairs or the dreaded “It’s cheaper to buy a new one” conversation (To be fair, it often is).
Solution
Here’s a wild thought – what if it didn’t have to be this way? We have had countless conversations about this internally and here are a few things we’ve actively been working on to make IT a little more joyful.
1. Listening to what people need.
2. Ditching the tech-speak.
3. Providing the best money for value service.
So next time you’re ready to throw your laptop out the window, remember – not all heroes wear capes. Some wear lanyards and are actually trying to make tech work for you, not against you. And also, it so happens that that’s kind of what Simpl Solutions is about too. Just saying. 😉
