Cyber Security – Ongoing Training

Most of us probably think that Cyber Security training or awareness is a once-off thing to tick off your to-do list. We beg to differ. While you may think that listening to that podcast or hearing that “Tech Uncle” explain what ransomware is, how do you actually know that what you know is enough?

Ongoing Training

At Simpl, we believe in being pro-active (Preventing bad things from ever happening). Even though we know this isn’t 100% failproof, we know we’re about 99% there. One of the solutions we provide is access to an easy, weekly training plan that is done virtually. Each training session only lasts about 5-10min. Each user does this training individually and within their own time schedule.

Gap Analysis

We start off with what is called a Gap Analysis, which is an overall review of your strengths and weaknesses in terms of your Cyber Security knowledge. Every user is assigned to this and will receive an overall score. From this point, they will be assigned to courses based on where they scored the least, focusing on moving their weaknesses to strengths.

Phishing Simulations

Another fun tool included in this training package is the random testing of users’ resilience. We’ll send out random fake phishing emails to see if a user knows the correct steps to take, whether they open the email & link, just ignore the email, or report the email to us. It’s a great way to truly test an area that is already widely targeted.

Measuring Risk

This all sounds great and all, but how do we know if this is working for us? It’s simple, the data, which never lies. We generate and send monthly reports to those in charge of user management. The summary report indicates from month to month, if the overall company risk is increasing or decreasing. We can go in so far as to show how many courses are being completed and who isn’t participating.
